Outlast

Outlast by Bashar Aba Najin is an instruction manual on how to survive a zombie apocalypse. In his book, he offers advice on how to prepare for the crises, how to deal with the undead, and how to cope with fellow survivors who become the most significant danger in a postapocalyptic world.
I found his book to be fascinating. He has thoroughly researched his topic. He links his hypothetical apocalypse with real diseases that can affect the mind, and real disasters in which those who are prepared are able to weather storms, earthquakes, and social upheavals. Anyone who takes his advice on getting ready to survive in a world overwhelmed with flesh-eating zombies will also be prepared for the unexpected catastrophes that occasionally befall humanity.
Alongside this instructional manual are fictional case studies of the trials and tribulations of both survivors and victims of the apocalypse. He delves deeply into the dark nature of humanity. It’s a cynical point of view, but I suspect accurate.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Outlast and recommend it for not only those interested in its genre, but also anyone interested in disaster preparedness.
