The Final Hiller Book is LIVE!
Well, I did it! After a year of total chaos, the final Hiller book is LIVE!
This has probably been one of the roughest years in recent memory for me. I ended up in the ER in March with some sort of hidden bacterial infection that led to temporary paralysis of some nerves in my neck/face (opposite of the side of my neck where is this known damage). It was a really scary time, and I wasn’t able to actually look at a computer screen for weeks. I couldn’t sit up to type in front of a screen for months–and I couldn’t concentrate on anything if I even tried.
It took five months before I could even work half a day, a few times a week. Of course that put me behind on releases (I had wanted Maddie and Charlotte and Auggie all out this year!) But I am almost back up to full speed. I am hoping by Christmas to be able to work full-time again.
I am super-excited that this book is the final book in the Hillers series (although there are a lot of side characters I don’t think I am finished with, honestly…), and am glad it is releasing today.
October 31st is the final day of my fiscal year (retailers pay 2 months after). This is the final book in the series. And…this is the month that I hit 15 years as an indie publisher. And, with various pen name books (many not even live any longer) and bonus stories and the paranormals, I have now written over 100 books. It has been a long, wonderful, chaotic, and great fifteen years. There have been more downs than ups medically (hurting myself in 2017, my health issues this year, etc), but I have aways kept going! My writing has always been one of my greatest passions. I still have many more stories planned, in all of my universes. I am also considering taking a little bit of time to work on some non-fiction resources for newer writers, but mostly…I am seriously looking forward to writing more of my books.
Including PAVAD (I am not finished with it yet!). (Yes, Miranda and Knight do get a book. Their book will be the final PAVAD book, and I am just not ready for that yet. But there will be other PAVAD things in between, some focused on Miranda/Knight–more details coming later. I got derailed from that project back in March).
I do think my next main releases will be Auggie (Masterson County) and Madison (Finley Creek). I’m not sure which will be first, but they are both in progress now.
The paranormals are where I first started publishing, and I do still love them. They are dear to my heart, most definitely. I am not finished with them, either. I have re-released 8 of them, of the 21. I do hope to get the rest out very soon. There are still 2 more titles I’ve never had a chance to write. I do want to finish up the main story arch and maybe someday, branch off into some spin-offs. I am also thrilled that I was able to finally after a year and a half move my website over to my Shopify store completely. This reduced my website costs considerably, and it just feels and runs a lot cleaner. It’ll be much easier to maintain going forward, too. Especially once I finally get paperbacks created of all the titles. And you can buy directly from my website (and I can control pricing much more than on Amazon, offer discounts, specials, etc.). I am super excited to see what 2026 can bring, and what the next fifteen years in publishing is going to look like!
But for now, I’m sure you’re all here for one main thing: Kurt Chase the Toad & Greer Hiller, the youngest of the Hiller Clan.
This is the final book in this spin off series. I am planning to do 2 large-print volumes in hardback containing four Hiller books each by Christmas!

SHE WAS PREGNANT WITH KURT CHASE’S REVENGE BABY.
Social worker Greer Hiller knew getting involved with her brother Gene’s worst enemy was a terrible idea. For one thing, she didn’t know why Kurt and Gene hated each other so much. For another, how could she trust a man all her brothers warned her to avoid?
But the youngest Hiller sister had always made up her own mind—and this time, her decision came with life-altering consequences.
Kurt had made it very clear: after he got what he wanted, he’d never want forever with a Hiller. Now Greer has to decide how to handle the fact that she’s carrying his child—and how to protect her unborn baby from the man who broke her heart.
Kurt never should have touched her.
He knew he wasn’t the kind of man a woman like Greer Hiller deserved. He’d grown up with nothing and no one but had built an empire he could be proud of. All he wanted was to share it with the one woman who owned his heart and soul.
Only she was the sister of the man Kurt was determined to bring down. He’d sworn on his dead brother’s memory to get the vengeance Kevin deserved—and that meant destroying Gene Hiller.
It wasn’t supposed to mean seducing Gene’s baby sister and getting her pregnant. Kurt was better than that.
But convincing Greer not to despise him while still chasing the truth about Kevin’s death proves harder than he imagined—especially when someone else with a grudge against the Hillers returns to town and sets their sights on the one woman Kurt will do anything to protect…

THIS TITLE COMPLETES THE HILLERS OF BARRATT COUNTY SERIES.
And…one more thing because she’s just too cute…Kiddo had her final softball tournament of the fall season last weekend. We were on our way down early Saturday morning and found this in the grocery store parking lot. Starved, dehydrated, with fleas and worms, eye infections, and an upper respiratory infection–there was no way I was leaving her behind. The vet gave her some antibiotics and eye drops and took care of everything else. Said to “feed that baby a T-bone if she’d eat it!”. He said she’s around eight weeks old, and she weighed 1.5 lbs. Kiddo named her Selene (twin of the sun god Helios, of course), and is completely in love. This is the youngest kitten she’s ever interacted with (Yama was closer to 16 weeks when we got him). Selene got to watch an entire day of softball games, tucked into my rain coat, while nibbling on baby food chicken! Now she’s curled up on my shoulder, plotting against the dogs!
