So, with the way things are going in the Capital City this November, and 42 million people – most of them children – having limited access to the food subsidies they depend on, I tried to think of how I could give back and help a little with this crisis.

I’m not wealthy – not by a long shot, but I have food on the table every day and don’t have to worry about where my next meal is coming from. What I do is write, so I am going to tie my writing into my desire to give back.

I have a new book coming out in a few weeks. That book, You’re My Match,

is available for preorder right now across all digital media, and I am pledging to donate 100% of the royalties for the month of November if you preorder it right now, to my local food bank.

In addition, any and all books in my catalogue- whether print or digital, that I sell from 10.31 until 11.30 – I will donate 20% of each and every sale to the food bank as well. I’ve written many times that during my poor childhood I suffered from food insecurity because my parents were part of the working poor. Many times we had mayo or ketchup sandwiches for dinner because there was no food in the cupboards. I don’t have that issue any longer, so I want to ensure no child goes hungry. No adult either.
