Forthcoming in November

I have a number of short stories coming out in November which I am proud of.

The Witches Hat and other Yuletide Ghost Stories features my story Snow Angel and comes out on November 13. The story was originally accepted by another publisher who went bust before the anthology came out so I was pleased to find another home for it.

Final Curtain by Lethe Press is an anthology of tales inspired by The Phantom of the Opera. I was delighted to be able to place my story Trompe L’Oeil in it – partly inspired by the late Alastair Brotchie’s career as a scenic painter in the West End (although the painter in this tale is very different from Alastair).

Finally (at the moment) my story of Sherlock Holmes adventures in Dunwich – a short distance down the coast from my home – will appear in Belanger Books The Necronomicon of Sherlock Holmes. I love Holes but don’t like Lovecraft so the challenge was to find a way of making a story that could be Holmes canonical but include elements from the Cthulhu mythos. Luckily having Watson as a narrator means the impact of the exotic elements of the tale can be told through his eyes without breaking Holmes maxim that “the supernatural need not apply”.
