The Enemy Fear

Last week, I talked about Fear and how to begin kicking it out of your life.

Replay is available: https://www.listinerinspires.com/living-beyond-trauma.

In teaching this subject, the Lord has taught a lot about the old enemy fear. First of all, fear is a spirit, not an emotion, and it is something that God did not give us, but he did give us power to overcome it: [2 Timothy 1:7 NLT] 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. ~ [2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV] 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Secondly, fear will override sound judgment and discernment given to us by God (which is different from our own personal intuition). This will cause us to make hasty decisions that can often hinder our progress toward what we are trying to accomplish, bring about worry and concern, and limit our belief in God.

Once this happens, doubts start to settle in for the win, saying FINISH THEM (like in Mortal Kombat)! Doubt is the very thing that diminishes our faith, and without faith, how can we say we believe in God, trust God, or even love him?

You see, Faith is bigger than we think ! You see without Faith it impossible to please God [Hebrews 11:1 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.]  If we are not pleasing to God as believers in Christ Jesus (and if you are not, I want to encourage you to get to know Christ for yourself —he’s amazing!), then what are we really doing with our lives?

Faith is our currency of life, helping us navigate life purposefully rather than wander aimlessly. So if you find yourself feeling lost, take a closer look at the area of your life and see where fear may have influenced your decisions, one subtle worry, concern, and doubt at a time. Then apply the scriptures I mentioned above and start truly getting to know God for yourself, so you can identify and cancel out the lies of our enemy. THE DEVIL! PERIOD AND AMEN!
