My posts have been few and far between the past year. In fact, I didn't write a word from September 2024 to April 2025. Instead, we bought a small house (1500 square feet on a slab), lived through a five-month gut remodel down to the cement (or is it concrete)? I always get it wrong) slab, while we donated, gave away, sold twenty-five years of accumulated belongings in our 4,000 square foot home and sold it, moving in February 2025. Zaza, our retriever, and I were both on anti-anxiety meds by then and Jim and I briefly considered taking up drinking again. But with our myriad medications, that seemed unwise. We are settled at last here. And in the spring, I was able to turn back to Ask Frank​, to begin revising, and then to finish writing the novel. I've just sent it to my first readers and am looking for an agent. Wish me luck. Some photos of our new digs. As you can see, we didn't get rid of a single book (five more bookcases are not pictured).
