An invitation

“A sweeping new study from the University of Florida and University College London has found that daily reading for pleasure in the United States has declined by more than 40% over the last 20 years — raising urgent questions about the cultural, educational and health consequences of a nation reading less” (Dooley for the University of Florida).

This depressing statistic struck a chord with me when I heard about it on a podcast I listen to called Author Update.

Yet, it also made me grateful.

Grateful for each and every one of you who still reads.

Whether it is on an e-book, with a physical book, or listening in the car, I’m grateful you take the time to not only enjoy my work, but also the works of others I recommend.

This statistic also inspired me to do something a little different.

The truth is, I want to get to know you, my readers, better.

So, if you’ve read and enjoyed my works, I would like to invite you to an even more exclusive club than this newsletter.

In it, we will have a book-related discussion every month.

People can discuss what they’re currently reading and what they want to read.

We will probably have some read-alongs and prizes, especially for my books and books from other authors I know you’ll love.

Overall, I want it to be a place where I know we can share our love of books AND spread the word about books we love with other people.

What’s it called?

Christian Fantastical Fiction Readers.

This is because it will be focused primarily on fantastical fiction written by Christians, preferably with Christian themes or elements.
