Usually stories give me the most trouble towards the end, but I'm only eight chapters into this one and it's given me nothing but trouble.  I'm happy with the eight chapters I've got, but I've tried to write since then has been awful and I've nothing to show for the past week's work except half a dozen beginnings of chapter nine that I ended up tossing. I've decided to scrap the rest of my outline--or at least most of it--and go in a slightly different direction with the rest of the story.
