This movie threw me for a large chunk of its runtime. It’s a noir. It looks like a noir. Everyone acts like it’s a noir. But…I don’t think it’s a noir. It has all the trappings of one, but the pieces are actually that of a straighter, less melodramatic piece of drama. So, there’s a disconnect between style and substance that somewhat confused me.
