Sculptor Builds Giant ALIEN Xenomorph in 20 Days

The Xenomorph from the Alien franchise is having quite the comeback lately. First, in last year’s surprisingly good Alien: Romulus, then in this year’s Alien: Earth. So it’s no surprise that one-man fabrication shop Jon Laymon Studios would attempt to create a gigantic Xenomorph sculpt, one that would put all other fan-made aliens to shame. Two decades ago, Laymon started a massive Xeno, but never finished it. Instead of going back to the old one, he decided to start from scratch, and he chronicled the whole creation via his YouTube channel. Somehow, he built this Xenomorph in only 20 days. You can watch the full video down below:

The video begins with Laymon’s son recalling how his dad began this project twenty years ago, then abandoned it. Jon Laymon talks about how much of an Alien fan he is, going way back, and talks about how he still has his Kenner Alien action figure from 1979 on his desk. Even though that toy has seen better days. Another indicator of how big an Alien fan Laymon is? The logo for his company is a riff on the original Weyland-Yutani logo from Ridley Scott’s 1979 film. This is someone whose love for the Alien universe runs deep. For those who want to attempt this, the video is a step-by-step process on how to make a Xenomorph yourself.

Every aspect of the finished Xenomorph sculpt is spot on. Even the chrome paint used for the creature’s teeth gives it that final cinematic touch. We think even the Xenomorph’s original designer himself, H.R. Giger, would be impressed with this baby. Laymon’s channel features other incredible geeky videos, such as the time he created a room for a client designed to resemble the forest moon of Endor from Return of the Jedi. For that and other amazing videos, be sure to check out the Jon Laymon Studios YouTube channel.
