The second post of the year
I haven’t done much with my blog this year. And by “not much” I mean this is only my second post of the year, and that first post consisted of 14 words (including the title).
So, in an attempt to get back into things, here’s a quick run down of where things are with what I’m currently working on:
The Broken Coin: The Vasini Chronicles III — This is creeping ever closer to being out in the world. I’m currently working through the proofread, so expect to hear in the nearish future more on when this will be out.
The ‘new thing’ I was working that was intended to be a series of short novels/novellas — Well, the first draft of the whole series is complete, except now, it turns out, it’s a single long novel rather than a set of novellas. I’ll be getting on to editing it once I’ve done some more work on…
Tales From Vasini IV — The first draft was completed back in…quickly checks Bluesky (see, I do post things, just not here)…April. Here’s a screenshot to prove it.

I’m doing a quick tidy up of it at the moment — mostly giving names to a handful of minor characters who are currently called [maid], [clerk] or [name] — before I get stuck into a full edit in December.
Why were they called [maid], [clerk] or [name]? Mostly because thinking of a name you haven’t used before can be tough in the moment and having to stop to think of one just disrupts the flow of writing.
Anyway, that leaves…
Tales From Vasini V — I’m currently doing some prep work on this with a plan to start writing the first draft in January.
Other than that — Mostly I’ve been putting together some stuff for my Thursday night TTRPG group for when I’m next in the GM’s chair, including one inspired by 80s science fantasy cartoons and the second part of a game set in — well, a little outside — Vasini, which I may blog about a little more at some point down the line. For those who may be into such things, both are using Monte Cook Games’s Cypher System as the rule set (or Cypher as it will apparently be called when the new edition comes out next year).
