sometimes i think, well, i took my shot. and i didn’t do it. but karl ove knausgård did it, so it’s okay. in 100, 200 years we’ll still have his work. it doesn’t matter if i did it, if my life has been one fizzling arc of failure to ignite, as long as it got done. as bill knott says, the fault was mine alone.
