Thankful
Sometimes we need to remember to be thankful. Things don’t always workout the way we plan, or how we think they should go. That’s when we need to remember to be thankful. The world wasn’t made to please us or give us everything we want. It only takes a second to remember all the things to be thankful for.
It’s too easy to dwell on what we’ve lost instead of seeing what’s in front of us. But Thanksgiving also brings with it a sense of nostalgia. The world keeps changing and trying to keep up is sometimes harder than looking back.
Many of my dreams have come true. I’ve been to places I never thought I’d see. I’ve been to places I didn’t know I wanted to see, until I was there. I’ve achieved things I never thought I could accomplish. What I’ve learned is those things don’t have to be measured by financial gain. I’m thankful for being given the space and time to complete those goals that seemed out of reach.
Thanksgiving always bring my son Mike to mind. Today is his birthday. I brought him home from the hospital on Thanksgiving Day. I am beyond thankful for him.
I have a husband who is good and kind. He makes my life better by just being there.
And then there’s “Freedom from Want.” I won’t be having a house full of family like the Rockwell painting, but I want for nothing. That is indeed something to be thankful for.
