Today…

It’s 3:30 in the morning, it’s raining, and I’ve been up for a while now. Mina woke me up, as usual, to get up. Sometimes she gets up earlier, and sometimes she lets me sleep in. I can’t complain. Last summer, there was a period when she wouldn’t let me sleep past 1 or 2 in the morning. It’s been almost a year now, and I’m not complaining, because she’s a priority for me, especially now that she’s been diagnosed with her third serious illness. In January of this year, they detected a brain tumor due to severe seizures she was having (like epileptic attacks; she had about five in just one day). In the summer, she developed a narrowing of her trachea, and now a heart murmur. The vet is optimistic, and with her four pills and four syrups a day, the poor thing has been through a lot this past year, but she’s still with us, even though they told us back in January that she wouldn’t last long. She’s a survivor. Right now, she’s asleep on my lap.
Today I’m going to the recording studio to re-record the song I wasn’t completely happy with, so we’ll finally finish recording my new album today. In January, I plan to release the first single and record a remix of that song. The second single will follow, along with the album.
Every time I listen to the new songs, I’m even more excited for this album to come out. It blends all the styles I’ve been experimenting with since I started singing in 2017, and it’s helped me confirm the path I should and want to follow from now on.
The year is almost over, and I’m already looking forward to 2026.
