2025 Books

Below is a very short quiz based on what I read in 2025. See if you can answer any of these, and if you can't (or don't want to), I put the answers at the end of this post. You can see my full list of 2025 books in my Goodreads profile.

1. Which two books include a key plot point that involves leprosy?

2. Which three books are translations from the Japanese?

3. Which four books are set in Japan? (If you answered question #2 above, you only need to find one more book.)

4. Which two books are set in India?

5. Which two books have the word "wedding" in the title?

The book I talked about the most: A tie between Shakespeare Was A Woman and Other Heresies by Elizabeth Winkler, and Butter by Asako Yuzuki, translated by Polly Barton.

My favorite overall books in 2025 were Colored Television by Danzy Senna; Real Americans by Rachel Khong; Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher; The Covenant of Water by Abraham Vergese; Family & Other Calamities by Leslie Gray Streeter; Black River by Nilanjana Roy.

That seems like too many books to all be favorites. What can I say other than it was a great year for reading?
