Blog Week 2

O.K. Well, I have managed to sell a few books but not as many as I might have hoped. I am wondering, whether it is my idea which was ultimately not good enough or whether I need to find better ways to promote it? Or have I priced it correctly? Having looked around, the general consensus seemed to suggest that while bargin basement prices on kindle and e book had worked well in the past, around the $0.99 mark, now it is the slightly higher priced books which were selling better, as though the higher price was a sign of quality. But since I have not sold many, should I reduce? I'm not sure but I think it may be worth thinking about. As to promotion. Well, I have tried advertising it here, there and everywhere so I'm not sure that it is that. Maybe it is simply the economic condition, nobody has money to spend on an unknown author. Or maybe what I need is reviews. Certainly it would help tell me if my novel is a load of mud but more importantly, if I could get good reviews, perhaps that would encourage others to give it a go. But if that is so and what I really need is reviews, then how should I go about getting them? Perhaps I need to organise a giveaway here on goodreads. But would that necessarily result in reviews? It might just result in a load of people buying the novel and then sticking it in the "to read" list for eternity. Well, at least I have plenty to think about over the next week :) !
