Busy-ish
Hard to believe my last post was more than two months ago. So much for sticking with my plan for weekly posts. I’m fine–just busy-ish.
Anyone who walked in my shoes for very long would likely disagree with that assessment. What other people think is none of my business. Feels busy to me.
By the time I walk and play with Tootsie; go for my run; take a nap; fix something to eat; catch up on calls, texts, and television; tend to the house and my hobbies; there’s not much day left. Yes, I’m spoiled. Vision issues keep me home a lot, but I doubt 20/20 vision would make a difference. Staying home appeals to me.
I plan errands to minimize outings and time away from home. Appointments and service calls disrupt my routine. One extra thing messes up my whole day.
Doesn’t help that the world doesn’t operate on Michael time. A six-hour window for a service call really pisses me off. Long waits for medical appointments tick me off too. They don’t call me crotchety for nothing.
The past few months have been unusually busy. In addition to routine medical appointments, I had five dental appointments for a crown and four new fillings. I’ve finally checked off everything on the dental to-do list–at least, for now.
Replacing the carpet with hardwood earlier this year caused the supports under my bed to slip from perpendicular and break. Busted springs made my couch increasingly uncomfortable. Both had to be replaced. Furniture shopping required several outings. Delivery messed up two more days–the second because the couch was damaged and had to be replaced.
I’ve also been tackling a few outside projects. Getting quotes and scheduling the work is still in process. The project turned out to be more involved than anticipated. Details to follow in a future post.
Like I said, feels busy to me. As always, thanks for stopping by. In case I don’t see you before then, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
