A spacious new year, and sub-stackers
A second new year post from us to let you know that our friend, Daniel Morrison, has published a great post on substack about how we might approach new year intentions and aspirations spaciously.
Daniel uses ‘spacious‘ as an acronym for the following words, each of which is a good one to linger on for a while in relation to how we’ll approach specific plans and potentials, as well as – perhaps – the coming year/s in general: Self-consent, Plurality, Alignment, Changeable, Outer World, Inner World, Underworld, and Slow.
Check out his post for more detail of the kinds of questions you might ask yourself to feel into whether you’ve given enough attention to each of these vital aspects. We made an image for the spacious acronym to illustrate what each word means…
This seems a good time to mention a couple of other people who are now writing on substack: our writing partner, Alex Iantaffi, who we published How to Understand Your Relationships with last year. Also Mel Cassidy whose book Radical Relating we are huge fans of. Alex reflects on the turning of the year here.
There’s still time to sign up to Daniels’ Coming Home course about nervous system regulation for therapists and other practitioners, and Alex and Sophia’s course about mapping y/our relationships – details here.
Finally, if you’re not already aware of it, the Year Compass is another great free resource for reflecting on the past year and the year to come.
