It has indeed been a while. Long enough that WordPress has changed their interface twice in the time its taken me to get this far into the second Clockworld novel.

It has not been what can be called an easy write. I’ve been working on it pretty much since I published the last one, and that was nearly eight years ago. A big chunk of that was spent dealing with writers block, and real life, so as you can imagine its been a difficult thing to try and accomplish.

Its getting there, bit by bit. I do at least know where the story is going, its the “how the hell do my characters get there” bit thats been causing me trouble. I suspect the book is a bit tonally inconsistent at points as well, given that my writing style has evolved somewhat in the last eight years.

But hitting the 100,000 word make does feel like some kind of hill has been summitted. There is still a mountain to go though.
