A Quiet Beginning
There’s something about a quiet mountain evening that invites stories.
When I first began writing The Vanishing Series, I wasn’t thinking about publishing or building a series. I was simply following a question that wouldn’t leave me alone: What would you do if someone you loved suddenly disappeared?
Living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can’t help but feel the atmosphere of the place. Small towns carry history in a way that bigger cities don’t. People know each other. Families have lived in the same places for generations. And sometimes that closeness means secrets linger just beneath the surface.
That feeling became the heart of the stories set in the town of Sylva.
Walking Away was the first step into that world, and now Slipping Away continues the story with new dangers, relationships, and mysteries unfolding in the mountains.
What I enjoy most about writing these books is exploring the balance between romance and suspense—how people find courage, connection, and sometimes even love in the middle of uncertainty.
