Hexagonal Paper Weaving
The Sunday Paper #598
March 22, 2026
Join me for a FREE Zoom mini-workshop on Wednesday, April 1st (no fooling), to kick off registration for The Paper Year, which will be open to new members April 1-10. Sign up for the workshop and get the supply list here. The session will begin with a short, face-paced overview of The Paper Year, followed by a mini workshop – we’ll make Folding Flower Cards. Please invite your paper-loving friends!
The Paper Year is a membership group – a wonderful community of paper lovers. In April-June, we’ll be exploring Hedi Kyle’s Diagonal Pocket Folder, a Landscape Pop-Up Card, and a Book Light. We’ll also have a Zoom visit with Mia Semingson of Two Hands Paperie (an amazing paper shop in Boulder, CO) and a surface design workshop featuring Hand Embossing with Carol Dubosch. I hope you’ll join us!

I had the pleasure of interviewing Mia Semingson of Two Hands Paperie on Paper Talk. who received her MFA in photography and electronic media from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, and France as well as nationally. Semingston taught photography and book arts at the University of Colorado at Boulder for twelve years. She and her husband Gerald Trainor have owned Two Hands Paperie since January 2010, where their goal is to foster a community of creative people and support artists and other small businesses.

In honor of my new book, Weaving With Paper, I’m featuring the many artists whose work appears in the book, including professional paper weavers and artists who have participated in my Weave Through Winter online class. This week I’m featuring something different, because I did a paper weaving demo for Ali Manning, who runs Vintage Page Designs and the Handmade Book Club. You can catch the replay here – we talked about the book, and I showed how to make a hexagonal weaving with paper strips.
