I am a businessman with a background in nuclear physics, and I never originally intended to be an author. These books actually started as a series of emails I sent to a group we called the "Friends of Skimmer" while my family and I sailed 40,000 miles around the world.

I was simply reporting on our experiences as they happened. It was the persistent encouragement from that group of friends that eventually convinced me to turn those dispatches into a narrative.
