Easter Eggs 🪺
I get asked two questions about my book all the time.
1. Any spicy scenes?
2. Did you hide easter eggs?
To answer the first question, my book is completely free of spicy scenes. Not my lane, not going to drive in it, there's plenty of that out there. Sorry.
However, as far as easter eggs go? Oh, friend. TONS.
Maybe it goes back to the three years I spent trapped in the cult of Disney Adults and there was that one summer I dedicated myself to finding all the Hidden Mickeys at Disneyland, (Spoiler, I found 10% of them) but I think the idea of easter eggs in a book is pretty fun. It can create a special connection to these amazing characters, and also bring them a little closer to our world in a way. I'm sure Luna and Penny would have a blast in real world Los Angeles.
With that in mind, I'm going to drop a couple of hints for you. Just allude to a couple of easter eggs you can be on the lookout for. Happy hunting! 🛵
1. Luna's name: Coming out of the gates hot, here. Go back to the scene at The Shell and pay very close attention to the description of where the pumps and driveways are located and which direction they face. Use this information to find the real world easter egg of where Luna got her name. Google Street View is your friend, here.
2. Donovan's Primavera: Honestly, if you don't pick this one up, I don't know what to tell you. Read the entire book. That's all I can say.
3. Penny's Redemption: Did Penny actually reject her father's views and beliefs? She was still doing business with her Uncle, so it's easy to wonder if she really and truly walked away from the intolerance of the militia world. Well, she did. And if you want the proof, simply look very closely at the origin of the "equipment" she used in the train yard buy scene.
4. Is Hot Mapping Real?: Yes. Hot mapping is very, very real. But just because you can do a thing does not mean you should do a thing.
5. Book two?: It has always been my vision for The Primavera Syndicate to be a series. There's just too much to be done and I honestly love the characters so much that it would be wrong of me not to complete their stories. But the second book was already being formulated as I was writing this one, and there is one tiny little hint in the street race scene that will let you know where the next book will take place.
I think those should keep you busy for a while. Think you found another one? Drop it in the comments and I'll let you know. Enjoy! 🛵🤍💛🌴
