I took a many-year hiatus from writing. Life got in the way and my "escape hatch" of putting words on paper sat patiently on the sidelines waiting for my return. Chemo, covid, fire, tree through a roof, tragedy, five adult daughters and their families sharing our space over several years - and a real estate market that took off in never-before-seen ways (what I affectionately call The Unicorn Years) - these are just a few of the challenges that made writing impossible.

But I'm back, better than ever. During those years, I read hundreds of books and learned a lot. When I stepped back into the sunshine, I was excited to share new stories. So I gave Maisy's Mirror a much-needed epilogue, rewrote Stealing Runner's Heart in preparation for launching the rest of the Leaving the Game series, have In the Strike Zone publishing in June 2026, and Left on Base releasing later this summer.
