WE WRAPPED DOUEN!

It’s now official…

As of Saturday, May 16th, we wrapped the DOUEN feature film in Palo Seco, Trinidad and Tobago.

I could not be prouder of the incredible cast and crew who came together to bring DOUEN to life. I’m currently going through the dailies (unedited video and audio footage) and I love what I’m seeing. I had a moment of realization…

Alyscia, you did it.

I led a cast and crew totaling around 75 people, here in the U.S. and in Trinidad and Tobago, to complete my first feature film. I am beyond grateful and proud of myself, my team, and the cast.

Alyscia Cunningham – We Wrapped DOUEN

In all honesty… I was worried.

How in the world am I going to shoot a feature film in seven days?

Seven days eventually expanded into 10 days, including the VRX scene and two production days in Trinidad and Tobago, but that’s still a very short timeframe compared to a typical feature film… and much shorter than what I originally envisioned.

I was initially planning for 21 days, but unfortunately, I didn’t have the budget to cover the cost.

Time is money…

And in all honesty, I didn’t get everything I wanted. There are a few inserts (shots that focus on specific details, objects, or information within a scene) and POV shots (Point of View — the literal perspective of the camera, determining whose eyes the audience is looking through) that I wanted to capture… but there simply wasn’t time.

Regardless, as a first-time feature director and producer, I couldn’t be prouder of what we created. And I’m looking forward to sharing this beautiful story with the community.

It’s not just horror…

It’s a story about recognizing and healing generational trauma so it doesn’t continue to pass on to the next generation. It’s a story that deeply resonates with me, and I’m sure it will resonate with many others as well.

As always, your support is welcomed and appreciated and will make a significant impact at this stage…
