Just Strolling

Good evening, all!

May’s been passing by at a leisurely pace, writing-wise, with a gap closed or line/section added here and there on multiple projects. Some of this is due to Outside World demands, the rest to a simple urge for chilling out as (official) summer approaches. There’s a certain freedom when the draft you’ve picked isn’t intended to be released anytime soon, although it’s a kind best not indulged for too long. Thankfully, it seems like I’ve avoided that pitfall, for the most part–something that ought to be made clear next month, when my AH short work “Mother Country” (set in the unverse of my “Divided Worlds” novella) will finally be released on KDP! Maybe even sooner, given how cover design and formatting are currently going; keep an eye out for more news! Another draft, “All Quiet in Calais” is in beta stage(s) now, and may even join the first on digital shelves before June ends; watch for that as well!

At the moment, I’m wrapping up the stretch of work I set aside for tinkering with/adding on to my AH novel draft A More Perfect Union, the intended sequel for my earlier works Dillinger in Charleston and Dixie Curtain. The latter two are both going back on sale next week (in digital and hard copy form, with Dixie Curtain), to mark the end of current AMPU efforts and celebrate the start of my next project; check out and share the links below! As for the next round, it’s all new work, on the second short story in my “Marshal Lawrence” Civil War Hist. Fiction series. No title as of yet, but I’ve outlined and re-outlined several times already for this draft, and so I’m almost champing at the bit (pun definitely intended, given the era, LOL) to get this started. I reserved June and July to work on it, although it may only take half that time, or a little more–ah, the beauty of self-imposed deadlines. I also might find myself tinkering with a short work for a recently-announced “Space Race”-themed anthology on Sea Lion Press; quite the whiplash, if so, but that’s practically expected, for any writer.

Have to sign off here; must refocus on a possible chapter finish! Keep cool in these steadily warmer days, and I’ll be back with more news next month!
