Book tour!

I finished my book tour last week (crying emoji)! Hard to overstate just how FUN it was to meet readers, talk about my book, and see some of the best bookstores in the country.

I was lucky enough to make visits to seven cities: NYC (where I live), Baltimore, Richmond, Charlottesville, East Providence, Nashville, and, of course, Brookline.

Some observations:

- people were super interested in how I found the story in my book (it's a good story -- look at my author profile to hear the whole thing)

- moderators ask VERY different questions, which leads to generally different events. Still, some themes do come up time and time again, namely: WHY DO PEOPLE STAY IN CULTS?! An impossible question to answer fully, but still worth investigating some of the reasons.

- it was especially cool meeting STUDENTS in the signing line. Several asked if I had any writing advice, and I always encouraged them to keep a journal.

- so many friends and family -- from all walks of my life -- came to the events! It was like seeing my whole life flash before my eyes... and I wasn't even dead!

I'm back in New York now, happy to have a chance to catch my breath, but also so fondly thinking back to all the places where I got to meet YOU guys -- readers!
