What Ripple Will You Create?

Years ago, I had a conversation that stayed with me.
Not because it solved everything.
Not because it gave easy answers.
But because it reminded me of something simple:
People often want more of the same things than we realize.
Opportunity.
Purpose.
Hope.
A better future.
That conversation stayed with me long enough that eventually I wrote a book inspired by the questions it raised.
That book became:
Ripples: From Honest Conversation to a Shared American Future
Practical Hope for Young Black Americans Ready to Build
While writing it, I found myself returning to one idea again and again:
Lives are changed less often by giant moments and more often by small moments.
A mentor.
A conversation.
A better decision.
A habit.
A person who believed in someone before they believed in themselves.
Those moments become ripples.
And ripples travel farther than we expect.
This book explores themes of history, identity, opportunity, responsibility, community, and what happens when people decide to build instead of drift.
But today I want to ask readers something.
Not about my book.
About your life.
What ripple changed you?
Was it a teacher?
A family member?
Military service?
A setback?
A second chance?
A book?
A conversation?
And what ripple are you creating for others?
Leave a comment and share:
• One lesson that changed your life
• Someone who influenced you
• One piece of advice for younger generations
• One positive ripple you hope to create
Maybe someone reading your answer needs it.
You never know how far one story can travel.
