Riverwalking

Sidewalk
Goes semi-straight,
Dips down,
Curves around,
Following the river.
Guardrails some
Guardrails none
Careful, don’t fall
Into the river.
Colorful mural
On a wall
Difficult to
Take in all,
Walking along the river.
Throng of people
Barely moves
Other people
Pass by you
Along the river.
A mama duck floats by,
Guiding two ducklings
In the river.
Eateries and shops
Beckon wanderers
On both sides
Of the river.
Cross a bridge
To the other side.
Board a boat,
Get a tour.
Then come back
And shop some more.
At night,
Quite a sight
When downtown’s decked
With colored lights
Reflected in the river .
