A New Thing
Back in December, I finally typed The End on a project that began as a NaNoWriMo story in 2017. What it finally became is half mystery, half holy quest, and if you like courtly intrigue and magical beasts I hope it might be your cup of tea.
I’m getting ready to launch a Kickstarter for the project. If I can manage to get some good backing, that will let me step up my game and improve not only this release, but potentially future releases as well. My current working title is Of Goddesses and Graven Images, but that is definitely still subject to change. I’ve included the Kickstarter blurb below. Let me know down in the comments if this sounds like something you’d be interested in!
Also, I hope everyone had a happy Fourth, whether you’re American or not!
Of Goddesses and Graven ImagesA mysterious wasting sickness. A mad cult. Medieval politics. Can one squire and her friends save the herd and stop the coup?Iona of Blakeslee, 15, was not chosen by one of the new foals in the spring Bonding ceremony, making her one of the few squires her age without a mount. But when all the unicorns in the stable suddenly take ill with heaves, the cause can only be foul magic – and all of the Bonded knights and squires are too busy caring for their partners to seek out a solution. Iona goes to her friend in the priesthood with a plan, and the two of them are handed the entire investigation. They’ll have help, though, from a knight instructor, a woman who was forcibly retired from service when she lost both her mount and two fingers in the same ill-fated battle. But will their team be able to find the culprits before all the visiting dignitaries go home at the end of the tournament and save the herd?
