When I finished Fire & Light, I thought I knew where Book 2 was going.

I was wrong.

Earth & Shadow has surprised me in the best possible way. Characters who were meant to have small roles have demanded a much bigger place in the story. Long buried secrets are finally coming to light, and some of the answers readers have been waiting for since Book 1 are about to change everything they thought they knew about dragons, magic, and the curse.

One thing I promised myself while writing this book was to make it bigger, deeper, and more immersive. I’ve been listening carefully to reader feedback and taking my time with every chapter. I want you to feel every victory, every betrayal, every impossible choice right alongside the characters.

Without giving away spoilers, you’ll be traveling far beyond Dallas this time. Ancient places awaken. New dragons emerge. Old enemies aren’t who they seem. And the earth itself begins revealing secrets that have been hidden for more than a thousand years.

I’ve reached the point in the writing process where the story has taken on a life of its own. Those are always my favorite moments because that’s when the characters stop following my outline and start making their own decisions. Sometimes they surprise me just as much as I hope they’ll surprise you.
