TGIF!! August is here! I mean he’s on the doorstep pounding on the door, and August is looking to bring the heat to the party
Okay enough about that. It’s time to share five random things about our week. I’ll go first…
Monday I was bored for about ten seconds and immediately remembered that I needed to bake gluten and dairy free cookies for my DIL’s shower that’s a little over a week away now. So I did that and froze them. I’ve frozen this type of cookie a bunch of times and it works really well, and doesn’t affect the quality of the cookie. These cookies are an option for those who might have dietary restrictions. We’re also have cupcakes and cannoli.I tried Tai Chi. Long story, but my doctor suggested it given my interests in maintaining my balance, along with strength and flexibility. He told me to do a video version of Tai Chi. So I did, and wow was I sore. Ten years ago, this wouldn’t have made me sore, but age and my RA being cranky in the heat and humidly really brewed up some misery in my left ankle, my knees and lower back. All that tells me that I should keep doing some Tai Chi once or twice a week in addition to my walking and weights. Plus learning new things is good for me. Will I actually doing it???? We’ll see.As I mentioned in the comment above, my RA has been flaring a bit. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it reminds me of dark days when I could barely walk (not exaggerating, it was really aggressive), but it also reminds me to be very thankful for meds that have helped me. Right now, I think these are just heat related flares, but again, time will tell.Yesterday I was driving Wizard home from having an exam that required his eyes be dilated. We saw a truck, and I said, “That’s a cool truck.” That’s it. Since then, he’s been researching that truck and offering to buy it “for me.” I swear the man gets car fever more than a toddler in day care gets sick. I’m amused. I really did like the truck though, but don’t tell him, okay?On Saturday, we are going it Wizard’s aunt’s 90th birthday party. Wizard’s uncle and family are flying in from out of state, and after the party we’re taking them to see Wizard’s mom (his uncle is her brother), and we’ll all go to dinner. Sunday is my birthday, but I’m not positive what we’re doing or not doing. Last I heard we’ll go to dinner Sunday night, and Youngest and DIL will go too.
That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
