"Cryptid Case Files"
[adds "Game Designer" to my bio...?]
A few months back, I mentioned that while at AWP, I was inspired to write my first mini roleplaying game. After lots of productive edits and feedback, I'm happy to say that "Cryptid Case Files" will be featured in "Tales from the Cryptid" by Scryptid Games. This anthology is full of fiction, games, poetry, and ephemera all celebrating the elusive and under-appreciated cryptid (e.g. the Loch Ness Monster, Mothman, Yeti, Big Foot, etc.).
In "Cryptid Case Files," players take on the role of cryptids creating a true crime podcast investigating the disappearance of a fellow cryptid. Did their fellow cryptid disappear of their own accord, too overwhelmed by existing in this world? Did they succumb to a terrible act of violence against them, and will the players’ true crime investigation bring justice to their fellow cryptid? Or are they just on vacation and didn’t leave an out-of-office response on their cryptic email? Following the clues and collaborating with one another, players will collectively decide what happened to their friend.
