Reader, I built a website. Send help.
So here's a fun fact about me: I write romance novels about people who are extremely good at things. Fighting. Loyalty. Devastating one-liners. Meanwhile I spent the last few weeks personally at war with something called an SSL certificate, which I am fairly sure is just a made up word designed to make me feel stupid on purpose.
But it's done. laylacornellbooks.com is live, and nobody had to talk me down off anything, mostly.
What's actually there, for the people who don't care about my hosting trauma:
📖 A newsletter, where I promise to sound like a person and not a corporate press release
🎁 Reader magnets, starting with an exclusive Tell Me prequel novella - a short story you genuinely cannot find anywhere else
Here's the thing nobody tells you when you decide to write books for a living. Writing the actual book is maybe ten percent of it, and it's the fun ten percent, the part where I get to be dramatic on purpose. The other ninety percent is apparently me, alone, at 11pm, googling "why won't my domain connect" like it owes me money. Marketing, social media, algorithms, some new platform every six months that I'm told I "have to be on." Nobody warned me that being an author in 2026 means becoming a mediocre part time IT person.
Anyway. I survived it, the site works, and now there's finally one place that's just mine, not owned by an algorithm that changes its mind every Tuesday. If you've read any of my books and want more, that's where to go.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for putting up with me figuring all this out in real time.
