I’ve made the difficult decision to take Summer Maiden: Persephone’s Fall out of active publication for now.
I wrote the original novella more than ten years ago as a short erotic retelling. I’m still grateful for the story it began.
But Bacchanalia has changed since then. And boy, howdy, so have I.
Writing Bound Maiden (and now Dream Maiden) has shown me what I want these books to be: full-length dark mythic romances with room for the characters and relationships to fully develop.
The current Summer Maiden no longer feels like the complete Persephone story I want to tell, or like the right introduction to what Bacchanalia has become.
So I’m going to rewrite it.
When Summer Maiden comes back, it will be a substantially expanded and reimagined novel, positioned as a prequel to the Bacchanalia books.
In the meantime: don't panic! You do NOT need to have read Summer Maiden to read Bound Maiden. Daphne and Apollo’s story stands on its own.
Thank you SO MUCH for supporting these books, and for being patient with me while the series becomes what I think it was meant to be. <3
