Able to Do

It is relatively easy to believe great things of God as inPsalm 33:6, 9:

“By the word of theLORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth…. Forhe spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.”

It seems more difficult to believe great things of God when ithas to do with us:

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Cor. 9:8).

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his powerthat is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he alwayslives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25).

“Who are you to judgesomeone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he willstand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4).

“That is why I amsuffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is ableto guard what I have entrusted tohim for that day” (2 Timothy 1:12).

“If we are thrown intothe blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us fromit, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king” (Daniel 3:17).

“To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presencewithout fault and with great joy” (Jude 24).
