Hello from Littleton, Colorado (no, not on fire thank goodness!) I am L.D. Stevens and first time author of novel 'Keeping Enemies Closer'. I am hoping Goodreads will open new doors for me and help me discover new readers for my debut novel.
A little about the book - which is why you're here!
Keeping Enemies Closer takes place in Kentucky and Wyoming. Shelby Harrison is a spunky, single woman, working as a reporter for the Lexington Herald-Leader. With a degree in journaliasm from the University of Colorado, she desperately wants to begin her career in investigative reporting. But when it is discovered that she is the daughter of multi-millionaire Daniel Harrison, who created the Kristin Farm horse breeding/racing empire, the Paper decided her talents would best be suited to reporting on celebrity sitings, cotillions and the debutante balls of Lexington. Taking the bad news with grace, even though she is nauseated at the sticky-sweet and empty calorie reporting she now has to do, she does her best but it leaves her feeling empty and hungry for more. While covering a celebrity golf tournament, her hunger is soon to be peaked by the gorgeous vision of Troy Matthews, back-up quarterback of the Tennessee Vipers. Not ever realizing how starved she was, they begin a wicked, sexy adventure that leaves her breathless and ready for so much more.
Hi all!! Thank you for the amazing response to my giveaway!! I am SO excited I can't even begin to tell you! To all of those that will receive my book for free I will be sending it to you as soon as the time frame is over. To those not selected, the book is on Amazon.com, Kindle and Nook! Also for local readers (Denver, Colorado) it will be available to purchase at The Tattered Cover bookseller on east Colfax. When you read 'Keeping Enemies Closer' PLEASE post a review on Amazon.com and other sites where it is available. As an 'Indie' book writer, going against the grain of traditional publishing is a daunting experience. Sometimes, the best writers never get their books read because of the way authors are 'supposed' to get their work published. JK Rowling was rejected dozens of times before she was picked up - and we all know how THAT turned out! :)
I so hope you enjoy 'Keeping Enemies Closer' - I know I'll never be a JK Rowling and that's ok... I just want to do what I love and make a living at it. From the heart - THANK YOU AND HAPPY READING!!
