marketing

If I have learned anything about being an author, it is this. There are a million writers out there, competing at any given time for the "Hot spot" on the internet. They all want to have their book or their name pop up first when someone goes looking for a book to read.
Knowledge of marketing is more essential to an author than most anything else. Too little knowledge of marketing can be a huge stop sign to an author. There are websites to create and blogs to write as well as promoting your works elsewhere. Key words are a skeleton key that can open just about any door if they are applied right.
However, for many writers, the full knowledge of marketing simply isn't strong and therefore their writes sit in wait of a "drive-by" here and there. It isn't enough to boost their sales and get noticed.
I have sought the advice of those around me and have received wonderful advice and pointing in the direction I need to go. the problem with me, as I am sure it is with many authors, is there is always a rad block that stops you from reaching that final step that will get your writes seen by millions. To make a website and get a domain name, to promote properly and to find the right places and keywords that might rocket you to the stars is simply not part of my knowledge. I seek out and hope that someone, somewhere on the internet sees my blogs or concerns and holding the knowledge I need, will reach out and guide me.
Writing is a tough career to follow but there are fabulous awards if you can find the right person or site that will give you the upper hand.
