Summer has gone by too fast and walking my kids into their classrooms for their first day of school was bittersweet. It's 10:15 and the house is depressingly quiet. No Nerf wars and cartoons. The doorbell isn't ringing and the entire neighborhood isn't running through my house. My dog is curled up on my bed taking a nap. I miss the wonderful chaos only kids can bring. But for the first time in 2 1/2 months, I have 6 uninterrupted hour to work and with all that's coming up, I need it. Over the summer, I had big plans to write several thousand words per day and blog at least twice a week. It just didn't happen. When I did get a moment to myself, I spent that time working on edits for Coming Apart and Satan Like Spam. Getting Coming Apart in perfect grammatical shape has been a long and humbling process but now that it's been corrected and is in the process of printing, I feel relieved. Satan Like Spam is still on track for a September 13th release and everything seems to be coming together at once. Over the past year my publisher has been working to get Coming Apart in stores. Bookstores did want to carry it... the problem was, we needed a distributor. I thought getting one would be a fairly simple task... it wasn't. But after an entire year of persistence, my publisher signed a contract with a distribution company that will warehouse all of their books. This is a huge step. In September, my books will finally be available for stores to order!
In other news, I am picking up where I left off on book three. So over the next six month, I will be spending most of my time writing and researching. I have several events and radio interviews coming up and as soon as the dates are firm, I will share the details. But what I'm giddy about is the project I'm currently working on. I have teamed with Choate House to create another amazing trailer. We are just in the beginning stages, but our completion date is set for the end of October. The next 12 months are going to be busy but super exciting. I will keep you posted!!!!!
