This will be brief. In watching the Republican Convention, I heard Paul Ryan advocate increased defense spending. he wants to reduce spending on everything else, but Defense gets even more that it gets now, which is 25% of the Federal Budget, the largest single part of the budget. Why do the Republicans want to increase it? Very simple: it is a subsidy of jobs. While Republicans criticize every other part of the budget, they want to subsidize defense contractors. There is no free market here; there is only crony politics. Romney and Ryan want to give money to their friends. yes, some jobs will be created, but this is not the private sector. The products of this subsidy are bought by the government only. The republicans are hypocrites. They are reverting to the economics of a war economy. This is nonsense. Our dollars should go to private sector jobs, not subsidy of government waste.
