Yesterday I offered At the Gates of Madness for free digital downloading at Amazon. Within the first four hours it looked as though it was going to be a flop, with only three people downloading it. I quickly went social networking crazy and posted about it here, on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pintrest.
I guess it worked.
By the end of the day, over 9000 copies were downloaded and I couldn't be happier. I hold these free offers as a way of just getting the book out there for people to read. The book has already sold more copies than I could have expected, so doing these offers is fun for me. It's even better when I see that people have taken advantage of it.
