Playing with the Big Kids
JUNE 2013!!
I'm not going to torture you and make you read this entire blog for that single piece of information, so I might as well start with it.
Don't be sad! There's no reason to groan!
I'm not playing wiffle ball on the street of my neighborhood anymore. I'm in the "Bigs" now; with that comes a new set of rules, and we need to play nice!
I loved being an Indie Author!
I am a control freak (go figure), and it allowed me to feed the beast by having a say in every little detail - from the formatting, to the book cover, to the Emma-isms that are unique to this series.
But ever since I typed the first word of Reason to Breathe, I've envisioned this series on the shelves of bookstores all over the world for everyone to read! And now it's happening!
Penguin UK/Razorbill is in the process of prettying up the first two books in the series. They will be released as eBooks initially on November 8th, available in the UK, Australia, India and South Africa. The print versions will be available in 2013.
Amazon Publishing will be re-releasing Reason to Breathe in January 2013, Barely Breathing in March 2013 with Out of Breath to follow in June 2013.
Raise that chin; it'll be okay. I promise!
In the meantime, there is a lot to be done before June! There are deadlines, publicists, and hundreds of pages of edits to conquer! I just spent the entire night clicking "accept" edit, "reject" edit, and restructuring sentences in Reason to Breathe for Penguin's upcoming release. I have yet to go to bed, and it's now almost 1pm. I'm about to fall over, and couldn't tell you my own name, but it's worth it. We're playing with the Big Kids now...
Oh! And did I happen to mention that I have until the end of November to finish writing Out of Breath?! Yeah, I'm a little freaked by that. But I discovered last night that my body shuts down at a certain point, and my mind takes over. Who needs sleep?!
This is happening! I've stepped out onto the field, shielding my eyes from the bright lights, and I'm about to let the world know who I am. Are you going to be in the stands cheering me on?!
There is so much more I want to tell you, but I'm not sure you've read beyond the first sentence of this post - haha!

ok i'm little frustrated with the wait but i'm sure it'll be worth it. This series is very real, and with a lot of feeling and have to be mind and emotionally draining to write it. Congrats again on being published lots of love and dew for u!! :-)

The content will remain the same. A word choice or sentence here or there may be restructured, but it will still be the same story!

There won't be an earlier eBook release for Out of Breath? :( Omg, June is a loooong wait! Hoping to fast forward to June! :D And I hope the printed books reach the Philippines! I can't wait to have copies! :)

just want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You are a fantastic writer and you hooked me with this series<3 As others are wondering is there changes to the first two books that we will need to reread them? Also are we going to need to wait for the third book till next year?Also I can say that I have told all my family and friends that they need to read this series for it is so incredible that you can not put it down till you finish it and that it leaves you wanting to get the next book asap. And , guess what...they did;)

Wow, I really was hoping for the release to be sooner! I can't believe we all need to wait till June. Here's to hoping it is June 1st! I will have to be rereading these books till the release!

Congrats! I hate that we have to wait until June, but I'm VERY excited for you!! I keep crossing my fingers that we will get A LOT more Emma and Evan time then we did in Barely (hint, hint). I mean, she will get pretty lonely on the west coast all by herself without our favorite characters... :)

I can't help but groan at the wait but I am ecstatic for you and you your accomplishments.You most certainly deserve it and I am looking forward to June as my bday is in June. I am sad that I have to wait til next June to find out the conclusion. I guess I'll have to read the first 2 books for the 3rd time right before Out of Breath comes out. I love love love these books and have yet to find another series that has gotten me so emotionally invested. I am excited for you and can't wait to read Out of Breath!!! I am a fan forever!!!

I have read Reason to Breathe and Barely Breathing 3 times each since I've bought them in August. MY FAVORITE series. You are an amazing writer and an inspiration. You made me feel connected to Emma emotionally, and Evan is Heaven in a book, I absolutely love him! I seriously could not wait until today to find out when Out of Breath is coming out!! June?! Man oh man, the suspense will kill me! I'm just gong to have to read the others again and again until this one comes out! Well, like everyone said, June is a LONG way away when you're eagerly awaiting something!! However, looking at this as an opportunity to reread the first two stories and be fresh and prepared for the big finale!! Big Congratulations to you! You write awesome stories and deserve to be on a bookshelf!
Since the first two books are being released again as books..is there a need to re-read it due to any actual changes from the first time they were out? I'm excited for book 3, but want to make sure if I need to read the first two again. Just double checking, crossing my t's and dotting my i's.
