Problemo

What to write? That is the question. I have been motoring right along on a new cozy mystery-loving it! So unlike anything I've every written before-the process even feels different, the way the plot is developing and the turns and twists it is taking are surprising even to me. Most days, it's like reading a good book and I can't wait to sit down to start typing away to see just what will happen next. There is not a thing I don't like about it.

So why then, am I suddenly so drawn back to a book I haven't touched in 5 years? Re-reading it and being struck by how I can solve the problem that stumped me way back when? How much I love the characters and their unresolved conflicts!

Can I just switch back and forth? Two totally different voices, genres moods? Will my witty comedy become melancholy? Will my serious single title become snarky?

I can't even read two books at the same time-why in the world would I try to WRITE two books at the same time?

There are days that I wish I could just sit in this chair and write until I am done, not until I have to stop. Today, is one of those days.
