I woke very early this morning and looked out the window to see the waning moon and Orion glowing in the eastern sky. All seemed fresh and possible at that moment, always the same and ever new: the silence of Being beyond Time and the murmur of Time's Love-Arrow lodged in my heart, urging me into the new day.  I felt I could dare to imagine more expansively and allow certain smallnesses to fall away.

Sunday I came across a paraphrase from Pres. John Adam about building society. He said he had to study politics and war to make the (American) revolution so his [children] would be able to study history, philosophy, and mathematics in order to give the next generation the right to study painting, music, architecture, writing, and porcelain. That was his idea of the natural progression of aspirations. What are we aspiring to give the next generation by working to create new grooves in consciousness today?

I believe that together we can see into that luminous space where the new emerges. Together we can discover a spontaneous willingness to take responsibility for nurturing what arises from that space, not just for ourselves but for those who come after us.

Imagine.   Embody.   Extend.
