I was very impressed that you decided to put out The First Confessor in this manner. I also love it. The story was amazing and I think the message to other authors and would-be authors out there is inspiring. Keep up the great work!

I didn't realize it was strictly e-reader. I am sad it won't sit in my library next to the other Sword of Truth books, but I loved what you said about why and how you put this book out there. I look forward to reading it. P.S. I voted for it without having read it. Yeah, it's that good!
Done. I wasn't aware of the contest beforehand, or I would have voted on an earlier date & time.I'll send my Goodkind peons with the news to vote for this, or get smite...etc. <3

Breaking free from the traditional/old world has been incredibly uplifting.
I voted! You are by far my favorite author. You stay true to the characters! I loved so much The First Confessor. I can not wait till you come out with more books. I will support you forever and I always spread your book out:) Wizard's First Rule was my first favorite book. After that I was hooked. Thank you for your great writing and in-depth story. I really feel like I am there when I read your books. I only wish I made it in time for The First Confessor book before they sold out. If you sell more please let me know. I have a a whole section on my book shelf dedicated to your books:-) Thank you
I voted! Your books have brought me true joy and reading The First Confessor was like taking a trip home. I fell in love with Magda and Merritt the way I fell in love with Richard and Kahlan. They are now as dear to me as Richard and Kahlan are. Thank you for writing such a wonderful book!
I read it and loved it, but I'm curiously waiting for the book to appear in Dutch, since they do print it on paper. I did vote for the book though, since I absolutely love the stories you write.
My confused is now solved. I always go for printed book, but this novel only available to e-reader. Not a problem! I have kindle fire :) I vote :) terry, you're the best in the world in fantasy than C.M. Punk. (chuckled)
I already voted for The First Confessor :) Just completed my hardcover collection of the Sword of Truth this week as it happens. Now I have all of them in hardback, about half in paperback and 5 in audiobook too.
I think it's admirable for an established author to give this method of publishing a novel a shot. Kudos on that, and I hope it'll be a growing trend.Unfortunately, I was terribly disappointed with the book. I have a lot to say about it, but this is not the place. I'll write a proper review with, hopefully constructive, criticism. Not that I expect Terry to be reading Goodreads reviews, but at least I'll have tried.
Voted. I haven't read The First Confessor yet because I just purchased The Omen Machine, but I'm sure I'll love it as much as all your other novels.

I feel that The First confessor was as great as his first book of the series, Wizard's First rule. Let me know when you review is up. I am just curious what flaws you saw.
Frode, he reads them and sometimes responds :) I loved this one just as much as the rest of the series and can't wait for more! I hope it wins and gets the recognition it deserves.
my only comment is that the book was awesome. But i need more sword of truth series.... When is the next one coming?
Terry, you are an amazing author. I was never a fan of fantasy until I came across your books. Now I can hardly wait for your next book. Also, well done on taking the leap of faith and releasing an e-book. Brilliant decision. Wish you every success.
I found it on audible completely by accident. You and Tamora Pare the only two authors that I actively seek new works from every year. Than you for the first confessors story, I have often wondered how they came about. Zed drops hints here and there, but I was craving the story. Than you!
I bought the first confessor, unfortunately, my tablet wouldn't show the text. But one day I will read it!
I must admit that when I first started reading your novels I read some of your interviews and saw your responses to potential authors asking for advice and I thought you were one of the most arrogant writers I had ever seen. However with the recent publication of First Confessor and more recent interviews and tips for aspiring writers I was amazed at the difference! I applaud you for the bravery and courage a step like this took and I also like the more down to earth Terry I have read about more recently! Great book and I cant wait to read the next one!
One point of (possible) interest on the whole release as an ebook thing. In the page explaining why it was done, there was no mention of disabled individuals, whether they be blind (like me) or dislexic, and unable to read standard printed books. There's a huge number of folks who really really really want to purchase books they'd like to read, but for various reasons, printed material is just not an option. By putting books out in electronic format (preferrably drm free, because often, the drm methods interfere with our ability to get at the text of the ebook) there is a considerably wider range of available books for blind/visually impaired individuals now, as well as print disabled folks. The library for the blind (in the us, and rnib in the uk, and others in other countries) can only convert a small fraction of all books into recorded/daisy format for us to use, and audible and others have to select only the books they feel warant the time and expense to convert to audio formats. Thereby, limiting the number of books we have access to on a regular basis. Fortunately, with the recent proliferation of ebooks, and (slowly) the accessibility of proprietary formats becoming available in accessible formats, it's easier than ever to find something to read, and I for one love it (note: I've pledged to read 200 books in the 2014 reader challenge on good reads, and I'm well on the way to completing this goal, with nearly every single book I've read being an electronic one, with a small fraction of audio ones thrown in). Your willingness to release electronic versions of your works even though they weren't put out with a major publisher (I hope) will inspire other authors to do the same, and hopefully, offer me, and others like me, even more reading material. I thank you for your efforts here. I've read every single sword of truth novel, and am now starting on the Richard and Kahlyn series as well. I was so pleased to find there were more books in the series (found them on audible) that I immediately purchased the first two, and will get the third one next month, though I'm likely to purchase the first confessor in electronic form, despite it being available on audible, because of the cost difference there, and the fact that I can read electronic books much much faster than audible ones, since my speech synthesizer reads at around 350 wpm. :-). Anyway, thanks again for the release of the first confessor, and hopefully many others to boot.
Terry, in keeping with all the other mounds of piled on adulation, I was hooked from Wizard's First Rule and am now on Confessor after several months (I'm a slow reader). I can say that this series was a big inspiration for my own epic series beginning with Legends of Arboria. I will definitely be getting The First Confessor as well as everything else you put out. We authors have to support each other! Keep it coming and thanks!
Self Publishing is a long journey. Being an Indie author, I always helps to have a support system to create an ebook cover, edit and proofread, interior design. For marketing, I use usabookreviewers.com to gather book reviews and bookbub.com to market my book. I also started gathering email subscribers. So much to do...
From the limited information I can find, according to the Alliance of a Independent authors, if you have self published at least one of your works, and always strive to retain the rights to control the exposure of your books, you are an Independent author. Do you consider yourself an Independent author?
