Applecore Books has Arrived

This has been a very wonderful week so far. Firstly, I have successfully published my two new novels, SOMEONE DIFFERENT and WATERMELON, as e-books on Amazon. Marvellous, fantastic, I love them! And I really hope my readers do too (am currently all of a dither at the prospect of receiving my first reviews).

Secondly, Applecore Books has been born!

Applecore is an independent publishing house that has been created by my talented author friend, Wendy Storer, and myself. We have formed the business as a writers' co-operative and we are specialising in publishing realistic, contemporary fiction for children and young adults.

We are convinced this kind of innovative venture is the way forward in publishing, and we are delighted to be starting out at such an exciting and progressive time!

For more information on any of the above, please visit:

Many thanks for reading!

Lucinda Elliot This sounds wonderful, Kate. Today I begin Watermelon, and will come back with my status update on the first section shortly...

Kate Hanney Oooh, will be holding my breath! So kind of you to have a look. And yes, we are both very excited about Applecore; it's going really well so far.

Thanks again, and take care, Kate x x

Lucinda Elliot Updated my status on Watermelon as 'currently reading' and finished Chapter One. It's brilliant to far and I am sure will stay that way; had no idea kids were taught about the damage caused by bullets that way these days! You go straight into the story without any shilly shallying, the environment is well drawn, I could just see it. I love the humour, really dark stuff.
I'll read this slowly, a chapter at a time, because that way it gets it the most publicity and I can really appreciate it that way.
