I wrote the short story "Larvae" over a span of a few weeks, then published it back in February of 2012. At that point I thought I was done with it, and moved onto other projects. But with urging, I've decided to continue the story—which at its end left many things unexplained—and the adventures of Alona, an eleven-year old bibliophile whose world is turned upside-down when her family's home is invaded by strange, alien-like worms that burrow into human skin, feed on human flesh, and replicate themselves inside the body, eventually turning their host into mush.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Sorta gruesome. But a hell of a lot of fun to write. And I've recently had a few ideas to keep the story moving along.
So, I've decided to
publish it for free on the web as a serial novel. Episode 1 and 2 are already up on the website. Episode 3 (the three comprise the original short story) will be up shortly, with new material coming soon after. Horror, thriller, suspense, and creature-feature fans should enjoy it, so if you know any of those, well, let them know. The original short story is still available for purchase from a
variety of e-book retailers. But I thought I'd just go ahead and hook it up, sans payment. Enjoy.
