What a month…

Firstly, apologies for not posting since 2nd November…

and now… even bigger apologies…

NaNoLo, due to unforeseen circumstances, could be more accurately described as NaNoLoNoGo…

My final word tally is: 8,191. Bit of a far cry from 50,000 – just under 20% of the way there.

And the total amount raised is £50 – only 10% of my target.

And after delaying writing this post for the sheer reason that I hate to admit defeat, I am now admitting defeat. Due to illness and various other circumstances, I failed to reach either goal.

But in the time that I’ve been putting off writing this post, I’ve realised something.

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. (Obvious, yes, but bear with me…)

And when things don’t go as planned, we have two options:

We can focus on the negative side and hide away, be ashamed and beat ourselves up for not succeeding.

We can focus on the positive side and look at what we have succeeded in doing.

I choose option 2.

In one month, I have 8,191 more words than I did at the end of October, and Love Russia has £50 more than it did at the end of October.  Yes, the goals were 50,000 and £500, but surely some is better than none?

(By the way – you still have a few hours to pledge sponsorship money… let’s see if we can get 1p per word written – a total of £81.91…)
