Again?!
SAVE ME from 1D fan idiots and their overactive sense of entitlement! I woke up this morning to a couple of emails from friends who still use Tumblr, saying someone's copy/pasting chapters from Stockholm Syndrome into posts there, and doing it completely shamelessly. Do they honestly not know that's not okay? Or do they just not care?
Not sure where else to rant about it. This is driving me mad now, this illegal sharing keeps on happening and those grabby little dipshits are like cockroaches that I can't get rid of no matter what I try. RAGE. The times I've looked into it and asked people to stop I've either got flat out hostility (remember those delightful death threats?) or a load of whiny excuses. "I can't afford to buy books!" Tough shit, live within your means. "I'd have to borrow my mum's credit card and I don't want her to know what I'm buying!" Then you're too young to read dirty books. This is simple.
If I sound like a dick I really don't care. I've been working twelve to sixteen hour days this week in my "real" job to pay bills, and every book I sell is half an hour less overtime I have to do to keep on top. It's not that I don't sympathise with people who don't have unlimited book budgets because I totally do, I can't afford everything I want either. I've given the files for free to loads of people who were friendly and polite about asking, I'm happy to do that. It just pisses me off when people are this blatant about thieving my stuff, and I hate the thought of children reading these stories.
ETA: reported to Tumblr and promptly deleted. Hopefully it'll be at least a week before I have to get on someone's case again...
