TORN FROM NORMAL trivia: TORN FROM NORMAL was in the work shop for 4 years and was re-written 4 times completely. Chapter 10 *Carry on Wayward Son* is the newest and longest chapter in the book. Orders came from the very top in February of 2009 Karen Syed requested to add a chapter, showing how Andy met with Sarah.
It took me a total of 4 weeks writing chapter 10. As I write to music and had already a vision of Sarah. Al Steward's *The year of the Cat* song served me with the needed images. In order to show Andy's hopeless state of mind, it was important that I did NOT accidentally watch any newer movie with Ryan Kelley, than *Mean Creek* as this could have obscured my images of Andy Riley/Ryan.
In chapter 10 Andy finds himself drifting to Al's song. He dreams sitting next to his mom in the car, living her last seconds of life.
My editor J.R. Turner was very pleased with chapter 10 and only requested the song to be changed to match today's youth.
